The program is still in beta at the moment, however, an Adobe post announcing its availability lists a bunch of known bugs and missing features. News of its release spotted by The 8-Bit, MacRumors adds that Adobe Premiere Rush and Audition have also been updated to work on new devices.

Adobe says it carries Adobe Premiere Pro functionality in stages, from basic editing features and workflows, as well as popular codecs like H.264, HEVC, and ProRes.

Third-party integrations must be updated by their respective developers to work on Apple Silicon. Adobe advises users to run the current version of Premiere Pro on the M1 Mac with Rosetta 2 emulation while the Arm version is still under development, although some third-party integrations may not work in this mode.

Premiere Pro joins other Adobe apps, including Photoshop and Lightroom, which have seen releases of the latest Mac computers based on Apple’s Arm. Time taken is relatively fast for Adobe since the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini were released just over a month ago.

According to a document from the Adobe Support Community, spotted by The 8-Bit, Adobe is phasing out the original M1 to support all Premiere Pro features, and many parts haven’t moved yet.

The first stage, included in this Premiere Pro public beta, includes major editing and workflow functions such as color, graphics, and audio, as well as production and multiple cameras. Adobe has also prioritized support for popular codecs, such as H.264, HEVC, and ProRes.

Adobe says trial testers will need to upgrade their project files first to make them compatible with the new translation workflow, and users are advised to create additional copies of projects for use in the trial.

Beta testers should also be aware that Adobe has released a list of known issues in beta. For example, pressing the tool selector on the MacBook Pro touch bar can crash the application, and the estimated file sizes during export can show incorrect values in order. Greatness. “

Although Adobe is finalizing the original M1 release of Premiere Pro, it is asking most users to run the current version of Premiere Pro using the Rosetta 2 emulation on Macs with the “M1” chip.

Even when Adobe Premiere Pro is fully updated for Apple Silicon, it’s worth noting that third-party integrations like panels, plug-ins, effects, and drivers will need to be updated by developers to work locally. On ‘Apple Silicon’ and may not work reliably under Rosetta 2 emulation.

Along with Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush and Audition have also been updated to work locally on MacM1‌ Macs for public beta testers.

In November, Adobe made the original M1 version of Photoshop available as a beta. Adobe Lightroom CC updated to work locally on Apple Silicon earlier this month. The company appears to be on track to update most of its apps to support ‘Apple Silicon’ in 2021.
