How to connect your phone to an Xbox One
We all know that smartphones have helped to change and improve the lives of our video games. Not only do they no longer play game apps, but they can now serve as a second controller for our consoles.
Assuming that the standard Xbox console is easy to play, using your smartphone as an Xbox controller can have its own benefits. Your smart device must be up to date and signed in to your app store to sync as an Xbox console. As long as these two things are happening, we can help you easily connect your smartphone to your Xbox console.
Step 1: Download the Xbox app
Before downloading the Xbox app for iOS or Android, it is recommended to update your smartphone or tablet to the latest version of its operating system. IOS users need version 10.3 or higher to run the app. Microsoft recommends that Android users have version 4.4 or higher. Once the update is complete, go to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and type “Xbox” in the search box to locate the app.
Press the install button to start downloading the app on your smartphone or tablet and run it once installed. After that, sign in to your Xbox account when prompted.
Step 2: Connect to your network
To sync the Xbox One and the phone, both devices must be connected to the Internet. To check your network on Xbox One, go to Settings> Network> Network Settings.
On your smartphone, go to the Network / Wi-Fi menu in your device preferences or system settings. If your Xbox One is not connected, select Set up a wireless network, choose the network you want and enter its password when prompted. Both devices must be within the range of your network to connect.
Some features, such as using your phone as a remote control for Xbox One, require that your Xbox One and phone be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Other features work, like checking your achievements and broadcasting. To the internet.
Step 3: Sync your smartphone with your console
While using the Xbox app, tap the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner to bring up the main menu. From there you can access most of the features, but for now, just tap on the console. After a second, the option to Connect to Xbox One should appear at the top of the screen.
Touching this will bring up a list of available Xbox controllers that you can connect to. Assuming your icon is the only one on the list, tap the icon — labeled Xbox-SystemOS, unless you’ve renamed it — then tap Enable.
Here! Your smartphone and Xbox are now soulmates. You should now be able to use your smartphone as both a controller and a keyboard, although this functionality is limited to the Xbox OS. There is currently no integration on the second screen in the game.
Signing in to the Xbox app is straightforward, but there’s a learning curve involved that requires a bit of patience and understanding. Click again on the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner of the screen and the menu will appear.
From here, you can view your profile, achievements, clips, screenshots, Xbox Store access, and more. Click on the Avatar icon and your friends’ list will appear. The icons nearby are responsible for controlling messages and notification settings. When you see a new icon (represented by three avatars), you can start a group chat on the go.
Step 5: Control your Xbox One with the app
Once your Xbox One successfully connects to your smartphone, you will notice a small remote control icon at the bottom right of the screen. Click on this icon and you will instantly be taken to a black screen with four Face, Home, View, and Menu buttons.
Now that your Xbox One is in sync, all you have to do is slide your finger across the screen to select a specific tile while simultaneously pressing the A button in the center of the screen to approve it. We don’t think you’ll really use this feature, but again, it’s nice to know you can.
